Women’s Diversionary Fund
On 1 February 2010, the Corston Independent Funders’ Coalition, of which LankellyChase is a member, and the Ministry of Justice announced the creation of a joint £2m strategic grants programme to divert women from custody.
The objective of the fund is to support the sustainability and capacity of one-stop-shops and other related community services for women offenders and those at risk of offending and to provide diversionary opportunities and alternatives to custody. The fund will be disbursed over the next six months. Third sector organisations currently delivering in this or related fields will be invited to apply, so there is no need to contact the Foundation to register an interest.
